Cuba: Patria y/o Muerte

It’s not easy to get an exhibition together when you’re not even in the town you want to show your art. That’s why I decided to show my art here already and if something else comes up. Great!
A series of ten pieces.
The photographs reflect my personal experience in Cuba. They show what I have seen, what I have felt and thought.
Whenever you think about a Cuba series you have certain pictures in mind. With my series I try to show a different, more real Cuba. Even if some of the pictures show nothing but dust. It’s a personal account and all pictures are in one way or another related to my very personal experience there. But see for yourself.

Sometimes you don’t have a camera and you start to write about taking pictures and what pictures you want to take once you get a new camera. Sometimes you have a camera but no model available, or the snow locks you inside the house. But always you want to take pictures. And that’s how this series came together.
Technical not perfect but an expression of an artistic mind. Three self portraits shot in my Toronto apartment. Low daylight coming in through the window behind and a desk lamp pointed towards me. Sometimes I just need to take pictures. It’s so essential to me, at some point it feels like an addiction. And I love it!
Northland

A series of three pieces.
The series Northland is showing two lakes in northern Ontario (Canada).
With it’s dark style, similar to photographs taken in the early years of the last century, it reminds on the sometimes hard times of the early settlers who tried to find their luck, their life, sanity, all the way up in the harsh north. Away from the hassle of new developing cities, industry and everything that came with it.
Lisa’s Birthday
A photographic series of eight pieces.
This series has received heavy critic for it’s sometimes almost romantic portrayal of strong violence in mix with nudity.
The used elements blood, death and the nude body of a young woman, shown individually not objectionable, but shown together create a very real impression. An impression that makes some people think and talk about, while others shake their heads or just walk away.
